Braeside Community Involvement & CRA Programs

AMR Tax Services is proud to support and participate in the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).


Through this program, trained volunteers work with community organizations to assist eligible individuals with modest incomes and simple tax situations in preparing their income tax and benefit returns. This involvement reflects our commitment to accuracy, integrity, and helping members of our community access the benefits and credits they may be entitled to.


The following is a complete list of documents and information required to prepare your 

Canadian income tax return accurately and efficiently.



1. Personal & Prior‑Year Information


  • Social Insurance Number
  • Date of birth
  • Current address, phone number, and email
  • Marital status (and any changes during the year)
  • Direct deposit banking details (only if new or changed)
  • Copy of last year’s T1 General (if available)
  • Last year’s Notice of Assessment (if available)
  • Any CRA or provincial correspondence or reassessments



2. Income Slips


  • T4 – Employment income
  • T4A – Pension, self‑employment, or other income
  • T5 – Investment income
  • T3 – Trust income
  • T5008 – Investment transactions
  • T5018 – Contract payments
  • OAS / CPP / EI / T4E 
  • Any other slips from employers, banks, or investment firms



3. Investment & Asset Records


  • Sale statements for stocks, bonds, or mutual funds
  • Real estate sale documents
  • Capital gains or loss summaries
  • Cryptocurrency transaction summaries (if applicable)

 4. Deductions & Credits


  • RRSP contribution receipts
  • Union or professional dues
  • Childcare receipts
  • Charitable donation receipts
  • Medical expenses (excluding over‑the‑counter items)
  • Student loan interest
  • Tuition forms (T2202)
  • Adoption expenses
  • Political contribution receipts
  • Child or spousal support payments
  • Tradesperson tool receipts
  • Moving expenses (if eligible)
  • Home office expenses (self‑employed only; CRA criteria apply)
  • Vehicle expenses with logbook (business or self‑employment use)


5. Business, Rental, or Self‑Employment


  • Business income and expense summaries
  • Rental property income and expense records
  • Vehicle logbooks
  • Home office calculations
  • Invoices, receipts, and bookkeeping summaries



6. Special Situations


  • Disability Tax Credit Certificate (T2201)
  • Caregiver information for dependants
  • First‑time home buyer purchase documents
  • Transit passes (2017 and earlier only)
